mediterranean songs and a little farther

11 Jul

This evening of july 11 is the first  real hot day of summer. It gives me the mood to listen to some true roots music like Mediterranean and African songs.

Jaqee is an Ugandan singer, watcha clan interprets an awesome Algerian song entitled Oued El Chouli, Lek Sen has grown up in Ngor a fisherman village near Dakar and Naïas is a band from “Port de Bouc” a little Habor a few miles west of Marseille. The song of this latest is entitled “Lo Talhèr” which is the translation in the Occitan language of “naval repair workshop”. Indeed Port de Bouc was in a recent past a big naval repair center. All the active population is now in long term unemployment. A consequence of the economic globalization.

In the heat of this summer enjoy these four beautiful songs and have a good Holidays.
